MilongaFest is a Brazilian initiative that emerged after Genfest 2024. It’s an innovative proposal that complements the experience of the international program, strengthening bonds and collaboration among young people and CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) working in various social fields.

It will be a week entirely dedicated to volunteering, aiming to offer a fraternal and deeply transformative experience.

This fraternal approach to volunteering, inspired by the Milonga Project – an international initiative – is based on the impact that young people and adults have been generating in their areas of work for years. It represents a new way of engaging in social action, where the fraternal bond between participants is key. This same spirit of fraternity motivates encounters with vulnerable communities, promoting experiences of communion and intercultural dialogue, and from these encounters, discovering possible paths to social transformation and development.

How Will It Work?

During July 2025, each participant can choose an organization to engage in a one-week volunteer exchange experience. Activities will include supporting social projects through workshops (music, dance, and more), as well as community-based visits and practical tasks with host communities, children, adolescents, and Venezuelan immigrants.
